I was still only half awake when I caught the end of a news item on the early morning news last month about sharks at Dana Point in California. “You are paddleboarding next to approximately 15 great white sharks,” a coastguard helicopter calmly warned beachgoers as it circled overhead. West.
“Hang on,” said Mrs P, “Isn’t that where you’re going for that investing conference?” Indeed it is, although my plans to enjoy a dip in the Pacific while I’m there have been well and truly shelved.
Evidence-Based Investing (West) is a part of the Global Indexing & ETFs Conference, and it’s now just ten days away. Among the speakers are Meir Statman, Michael Mauboussin, Rob Arnott, Dimensional’s Eduardo Repetto, Barry Ritholtz and Josh Brown.
I myself am going to be hosting a panel discussion on Monday 26th on investor behaviour. My colleague Kent Lau from Regis Media is coming to the conference too.
