It was four years ago that my company, Ember Television, was approached by Barnett Ravenscroft Wealth Management to explore ways of using high-quality video to give ordinary investors the information they need to make better investment decisions. SITV.
A year later we released a documentary, Passive Investing: The Evidence, and launched Sensible Investing TV, an online resource for anyone wanting to learn more about evidence-based investing.
The success of SITV has surpassed all my expectations. At the time it was launched, there was very little awareness in the UK of the shortcomings of active fund management or the advantages of a low-cost, long-term and highly diversified approach. Although there is still a very long way to go, the message is starting to get through, and I’d like to think that Sensible Investing has played its part.
The good news is that SITV has just hit half a million YouTube views which, given its limited budget, represents a huge achievement.
Although I’m no longer actively involved with Sensible Investing, I would like to thank all those who’ve offered support, encouragement and feedback. Most of all, thank you to everyone who has shared the content; without you, this success would not have been possible.
If you’re not familiar with SITV, do have a look. I can particular recommend two landmark video series:
Stock Market History: A Crash Course for Investors
Enjoy and share.. Together we can change investing for the better, one video view at a time.
