Telegraph Money asked Morningstar to work out how many of the 1396 UK-domiciled investment funds with a ten-year track record have managed to stay in the top 10% of funds in their category over one, three, five and ten years. The answer? A measly 19 funds, or just 1.4%.
The findings are in line with those of countless other studies. Once again, advisers, journalists and investors have a choice. Either you believe the industry spin or the actual evidence.
