CEFEX — a shameless plug

Posted by Robin Powell on June 21, 2017

This is an impartial blog and, as a rule, I don’t endorse specific products or companies. But I’d like to make an exception for CEFEX.

Not everyone needs the help of an adviser — at least not on an on-going basis — but good advice is immensely valuable.

More than anything, investors crave peace of mind. You need to know that your adviser is not only thoroughly competent but also a fiduciary — that they’re acting at all times in your best interests. Regardless of whether you’re a small investor or the trustee of a public pension fund with thousands of beneficiaries, you need to be able to trust them.

The problem is that there’s no easy away of spotting a good adviser from a bad or mediocre one. There are dozens of different professional bodies around the world,  but the fact that an adviser has letters after his or her name is no guarantee that they know what their doing and have your best interests at heart.

CEFEX certification is the nearest thing we have to a global stamp of approval for trustworthy investment professionals. By being CEFEX-certified, an advisory firm demonstrates its adherence to a defined standard, with specific criteria covering 21 different best practices.

The documented, repeatable processes and the evidence-based decision-making that CEFEX demands are more likely to generate higher investment returns over time. And because the firm voluntarily agrees to a rigorous annual audit, investors can rest assured that their adviser continues to work to the highest professional standards.

For more information, check out this video that I have recently helped to produce for CEFEX.

If you’re already CEFEX-certified, please note that my colleagues at Regis Media can provide you with your own version of this video, in your own firm’s branding, to explain to your clients and prospects the benefits of using a CEFEX-certified adviser. If your firm is not yet CEFEX-certified, why not consider it?

And if you’re an investor — either individual or institutional — why leave anything to chance? Insist on working with investment professionals you can truly trust.
